How it works

How many stops does a generated treasure map include?

You can fix the route at four, five, or six markers, or leave count on Random for a seed-driven roll between four and six. Each marker gets a place name and one clue in path order.

Which marker is the hoard?

The seed picks which landmark name marks the cache, shown as a star or cross at the last stop on the dashed route. The final clue describes that hoard relative to the previous landmark using days, ridges, rivers, or coast travel.

Can I reuse the same map in a campaign?

Yes. Keep the seed, marker count, and route direction the same, or share the URL query string. Download SVG saves the parchment map with the title line for handouts or VTT import.
