How it works

How does town size affect the map?

Size sets how many numbered districts appear, from a single block in a thorp up to fourteen in a metropolis. Small towns and larger also leave a central market square empty of buildings when there are four or more districts.

What do walls mean for a thorp or hamlet?

When walls are on, thorps and hamlets draw a wooden palisade with a dashed outline rather than a stone curtain. Larger settlements use a solid wall and a gate where the main road leaves town.

Can I reproduce the same town layout?

Yes. Keep the seed and options the same, or share the URL with the seed query parameter. The same seed rebuilds the same districts, buildings, and gazetteer rows on this site.
