How it works
What are the built-in name lists?
They are original syllable tables for common ancestries, monstrous peoples, outsiders, and place-style labels. Personal names combine start, optional middle, and end chunks; With last name rolls a second name from the same list as a surname. Some place catalogs already add a second word from a small noun list, so the surname choice is off for those.
How does From a list mode work?
Paste at least five names, one per line. The tool trains a letter Markov chain at order 2 or 3, then generates new names that follow the same character patterns without copying your list verbatim when the list is large enough.
