A thin blue and silver line is traced on the ground, leading to that which you seek.

You sense the direction of a well-known or clearly visualized object. The power locates such objects as apparel, jewelry, furniture, tools, weapons, or even a ladder. You can search for general items such as a stairway, a sword, or a jewel, in which case you locate the nearest one of its kind if more than one is within range. Attempting to find a certain item, such as a particular piece of jewelry, requires a specific and accurate mental image; if the image is not close enough to the actual object, the power fails. You cannot specify a unique item (such as “Baron Vulden’s signet ring”) unless you have observed that particular item firsthand (not through divination).

This power is not affected by lead or running water. It can be fooled by cloud mind, escape detection, and metamorphosis powers.

Augment: You can augment this power in one or more of the following ways:

1. If you spend 2 additional power points, this power can also locate a particular kind of plant.
2. If you spend 4 additional power points, this power can also locate a known or familiar creature.
3. If you spend 1 additional power point, this power’s duration is 1 minute/level rather than concentration.
4. If you spend 2 additional power points, this power’s duration is 10 minutes/level rather than concentration.
5. If you spend 4 additional power points, this power’s duration is 1 hour/level rather than concentration.
