Fortify Spell

Metamagic feat

Unapproachable East (Una), p. 80Updated Forgotten Realms (3.5)

Fortify Spell is a D&D 3.5 feat (Metamagic) from Una, p. 80. You can cast spells that easily penetrate spell resistance.

Prerequisite

A fortified spell has a higher caster level than normal for the purpose of defeating a target's spell resistance. For every level added to the spell's actual level, you gain a +2 bonus on spell penetration checks with that spell. For example, a 9th-level wizard who prepares a fortified lightning bolt as a 5th-level spell rolls 1d20+13 for spell penetration with that spell, not 1d20+9. Spells that do not permit spell resistance are not affected. A fortified spell uses up a spell slot one level higher than the spell's actual level.
